Our caucus is the official home for Arab Americans Democrats within the North Carolina Democratic Party. We are dedicated to empowering and mobilizing the Arab American community across North Carolina, as well as working to elect Democratic candidates who are committed to social justice, economic fairness, and adherence to international law.
On January 6, 2024, more than 30 members of the Arab and allied community met at the Muslim Community Center in Charlotte to form an Arab Caucus affiliated with the North Carolina Democratic Party. After discussing the idea, the group agreed to meet again a few weeks later to vote on the bylaws and elect officers. More than 30 Democrats returned to unanimously approve the bylaws on January 20, 2024. Members then officially joined the caucus and elected a full slate of officers. The bylaws were submitted to NCDP Chair Anderson Clayton and the Affiliate Organizations Committee for review, and have since been approved by Chair Clayton.
